ABOUT US

Recovery Girls Rock (RGR) is a network of women from various walks of life who are recovering from abuse, loss, addiction, sex trafficking etc. We believe in a four-fold process of Identification, advocacy, education, and healing !!  Our mission is to end and treat the negative lifestyle patterns, which have sought to destroy us mentally, spiritually and physically.  We recover out loud – so our sisters don't die in silence.

If you've suffered abuse, battled mental health issues, have low self-esteem or have lost loved ones, we are here to help.  RGR is an open and positive platform designed to remove the negative stigma associated with such challenges.  Those of us who have been battered, experienced divorced or have carried the weight of depression on various levels understand that coming out of the shadows is no walk in the park. It requires not only willingness but a strength and determination to heal and to keep going even when life hurts.

Society has a tendency to set unrealistic expectations of how a woman is supposed to act and behave. There is no shame in being who you are, wherever you are, in this moment. We can recover from any and everything for ourselves, but we don't have to do it by ourselves.

The sun is shining, and it's okay to have hope again. You are loved. You matter. And most of all, you are needed.

“ Surrender to win!”

Surrender to feeling lost. Surrender to not knowing what to do. Surrender to not being able to change things by yourself.

Surrender, surrender, surrender –

“We got you girl!”

Growing up  in Compton California,  I experienced a lot of adversities which ultimately lead me to  substance abuse ,cycling in and out of the  California judicial system , and severe mental illness.  Today I am a survivor of  childhood molestation, rape, domestic violence , mental health challenges ,and homelessness. I have had the privilege to  volunteer at several women and children shelters , sober living homes , and group homes for at risk youth where I facilitated trauma focus groups, relapse prevention , and suicide precaution groups.

In 2005 , the City of Long Beach presented me with an award of accomplishment  for being a " Productive Member of the Community and The Willingness to go Above and Beyond to Give Back ."

My professional  accomplishments includes being a Licensed Addiction Counselor , a Trained HIPAA Specialist, and a Certified Documentation Expert .As a result of being an over-comer , I have had the honor of traveling both nationally and internationally to assist other women who struggle with some of the same core issues .

TODAY I RECOVER OUT LOUD SO MY SISTERS DON'T DIE IN SILENCE !!!
